Raghuram S, assumed charge as the first Consul General of India in Boston in the first week of September 2025.

He is an Indian Foreign Service Officer, and prior to joining as Consul General in Boston, he served as Joint Secretary/Director General and Head of the Policy Planning & Research Division, Joint Secretary as well as Director in the United Nations-Political Division in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. His earlier assignments at the Headquarters in New Delhi include stints in the Americas Division, the East & Southern Africa Division (as officer in charge of Indian Ocean Region countries), and as Head of the Afghan Cell in the PakistanAfghanistan-Iran (PAI) Division.

His previous diplomatic assignments include serving as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Embassy of India, Kabul and as Political Officer in Indian Embassies in Washington, D.C., Islamabad, Rabat, and Paris.

He holds a post-graduate degree in Genetics. He speaks Kannada, English, Telugu, Hindi and Tamil.

He is married to Ms. Soujanya Lakshmi Sikha, a lawyer specializing in Intellectual Property Rights Law.
