India opened its High Commission in Port Moresby in April 1996 to promote multifaceted bilateral relationship with Papua New Guinea in political, economic, commercial, consular, cultural, scientific and other fields. The High Commission is also responsible for promoting and safeguarding Indian interests in the country.

The High Commission of India, Port Moresby undertakes various functions and services including consular services such as passports, visas and miscellaneous consular services such as attestations etc. Detailed information on consular services rendered by the Mission is available in another section of this website.

The High Commission of India Port Moresby is concurrently accredited to Solomon Islands and discharges various functions and services including consular services for Solomon Islands residents.
