High Commissioner attending the Graduation Ceremony at the Centre for Excellence in Information Technology located at the University of Papua New Guin

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DACwhich is an Indian autonomous scientific society and operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has set up a Centre for Excellence in Information Technology located at the University of Papua New Guinea (PNG), Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.  The Centre facilitates and coordinates imparting academic and technical training to PNG students.   A team of Indian experts have been assigned to run the Centre which coordinates with management and liaise with host Government in Papua New Guinea and participate in all the academic/ technical activities at CEIT - Papua New Guinea.    

The details of the courses and promotional activities conducted by the Centre are available on their website: (https://ceit.upng.ac.pg/). To outreach with the youngsters in PNG the Centre is also linked with Facebook (https://facebook.com/ceitpng) and LinkedIn (https://linkedin.com/company/ ceitpng)  accounts.   The Centre has also done the market survey and reached several local IT companies to know the actual requirements, course patterns & courses in demand.    Due to these efforts till February 2020 more than 200 students enrolled on CEIT website  https://ceit.upng.ac.pg.

The Centre has a total of 49 students who took admission in five different certificate courses.  The students who completed course successfully have received their certificates from the CDAC-Acts Pune recently.    A Graduation Ceremony was organized for the CEIT Students on 4th December 2020 in honour of first batch 2020 students who have completed their certificate course successfully.

Shri Sushil Kumar Singhal, High Commissioner of India to Papua New Guinea was the Chief Guest at the Graduation ceremony and handed over the Certificates to the students at the ceremony.  The Pro Vice Chancellor of UPNG Prof. Paul Flemming, Prof. Vincent Malaibe and the Director of ICT Division Mr. William Tapio were also present at the Graduation Ceremony.
