High Commission celebrates ITEC Day with Alumni

As part of celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, High Commission of India, Port Moresby organized an event to celebrate ITEC Day on 17.9.2021 at Airways Hotel in Papua New Guinea. Despite the restrictions on number of people attending public gatherings, over 60 people including ITEC alumni, Officers in charge of training from Department of Foreign Affairs, Defence, Commerce and Justice attended the event.

High Commissioner Mr. Inbasekar Sundaramurti addressed the gathering and reiterated that India has a long and wellacknowledged history of sharing their developmental experience with partner countries in the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and the development cooperation is primarily humancentric. High Commissioner underlined the significance of the Solar Mamas programme a training program for illiterate and semiliterate women from developing countries. Many women from Papua New Guinea have attended this programme.

The gathering was also addressed by 2 ITEC alumni Mr. Mariori Mario Uwea, Col Dickers Esso who had attended the course in 201011 and 1995 and are now involved in training of personnel. They both appreciated the programme and committed to cooperate in promoting the Programme by disseminating the information and assisting interested candidates.
